Pictures

My mom sent me some more pictures from their visit and I wanted to share a few of the cute ones.  We took over 60 pictures which seems about right for a two day visit - LOL!

Update

We had a great long weekend!  Saturday we went to Jeff's for his 39th birthday party.  Annabelle was so good the entire night and even took a full bottle without fussing.  She is also sleeping in her crib now every night and usually only getting up once to eat so we are getting a lot more sleep!

Yesterday PaPa and Grandma Elder came up to meet Annabelle and celebrate a late Christmas (they both had colds in December and the bad weather has been keeping them from being able to making the trip sooner).  The weather was nice for their drive from Erie which was great for this time of year.  Brian also had a snow day, the temperature got down to negative 10 degrees, so the City School was closed for the day which was nice we all got to visit.  We had a great time, they stayed over night and spent some more time with us today when Brian went back to work.  Grandma helped give Annabelle a bath and we had some tummy time today.  We were sad to see them leave this afternoon but they had to get going so they could beat the rush hour traffic in Buffalo.

The first two pictures are from Jeff's birthday and there are three from Grandma & PaPa's visit.  I also included two of Annabelle with a teddy bear of mine from when I was little.  We are going to take pictures of her with this bear each month to see how much she grows.

Big week

This has been a big week for us.  Brian fed Annabelle her first bottle last night while I was making dinner.  She was hesitant at first but ended up eating about 2 ounces.  She had another bottle tonight that I gave her.  I'm so glad she is taking the bottle, this way we can leave the house and not worry about her having to eat while out.

The big news is that last night we slept from 10:30 until 6:00am without getting up to eat!  That was the longest night of sleep we have had which was really nice.  I actually woke up around 3am and checked in on her via the web camera to make sure everything was ok.  We are hoping for many more nights like that.

Today was our first time leaving the house without Brian, I had my first post partum doctors appointment.  Everything went well, I can now go back to exercising and normal activity which is great.  I've been anxious to get on the treadmill and elliptical to get the last of the baby weight off.

I also saw a little smile today that, from what I could tell, wasn't from gas.  It was so cute it just made my day.  I caught a picture of a little half smile right after that but couldn't get her to smile again.  I'm sure that soon we won't be able to take a picture without her smiling (if she's anything like her mommy LOL)!

I have included some pictures, some are from my cell phone so they are not clear.  I love the one of Clyde watching over Brian and Annabelle, he's always right there when Annabelle is downstairs.

One month old

We made it through our first month in one piece.  Everything is going very well and I'm loving my new job as a stay at home mom!

Annabelle had a weight check Monday and she's up to 9lbs 2oz.  She's still wearing mostly newborn clothes and a couple 0-3 month outfits that are on the small size.  We still haven't graduated out of newborn diapers but I'm sure at the rate she is growing it's only a matter of days before we are into the 1's.

I took a few pictures today, some of them are on the blurry side since I'm not using a flash and when she's in the swing it's moving.

4 weeks old

This week Annabelle received a personalized silver brush & comb set from mom-mom & pop-pop Kresge and they also sent Brian's baby brush.  I took a few pictures of them along with my silver cup from when I was a baby.  The other picture is us from New Years Eve.

Annabelle is growing so fast!  She's going through a growth spurt this week which means a lot of feedings, sometimes it feels like that's all I get done all day.  She's also starting to reach for things like the flowers above her bounce chair and she's following Brian & I with her eyes & head when we walk around a room.  It's so much fun to see these new things, we are hoping for a non-gas smile one of these days!

Quick update

Things are going well at the Kresge house this week.  All of the Christmas decorations are down and I undecorated the tree yesterday and have them all put away.  We just have to take down the tree now and the house will be back to normal.

I've cut back to almost no dairy and Annabelle is spitting up a lot less than this past weekend which is really good.  Last night she was fussy in the bassinet so I put her in her crib and she slept there until her 4:00am feeding.  She seems to like sleeping in there, perhaps it's the difference in the mattress or the room itself.  Whatever it is I'm very happy that the transition doesn't seem like it's going to be very difficult.

I've attached a couple pictures of her in her sweater from Randy & Julie Jones (Julie's mom knit it for her).  I also included some pictures of the back yard today for those of you not enjoying all this snow we are getting in the northeast.

3 weeks old

It's hard to believe that 3 weeks have already gone by!  We had a good weekend.  I ventured out to Wegman's without Annabelle on Sunday which was strange after having her with me for 9 months.  Her and Brian did well at home while I was gone.  She slept most of the time and he even texted me that she was OK so I wouldn't worry.

We went to the doctor today, Annabelle has been spitting up a lot of milk after I feed her for the past day and she's not latching like I thought she should be.  The doctor in turn put me on a dairy free diet to see if that stops the spit up and they said it looks like she's doing well with the nursing, just getting used to breastfeeding and it does take time.

Other than that all is going well.  My big project this week is working on taking all the Christmas decorations & tree down.  I posted a few pictures from the weekend, I included a picture of our other "babies" guarding the kitchen where Annabelle was sleeping.

Friday update

I thought I would upload some pictures I took yesterday while Annabelle was awake.  The white outfit is a Christmas outfit from Pa Pa & Grandma Elder which is still a little big so it's going to be her snow angel outfit for winter!  She is growing to like tummy time a little more and she is starting to focus on things around her which is really fun to watch as she develops these new skills.  We are starting to spend more time awake during the day and asleep at night which is really nice!  Last night she slept from 10 - 7 with one feeding at 3am.  From what I understand these patterns will change again just as soon as mommy gets used to it but for now I'll take it!
