14 weeks

This week we had our first Physical Therapy session with Danielle from Early Intervention.  It was very informative and Annabelle did great, she played about 45 minutes then was tired out.  Danielle gave us a few short term goals to work on like side lying (not a favorite) & tummy time with her elbows out farther.  We spent all week working on our goals and having lots of fun.  Usually about 30 - 40 minutes is enough before Annabelle gets tired, then she takes a nice long 1-2 hour nap afterward.

Last Friday we had to go to the doctor because Annabelle lost 2 ounces since her last appointment (Brian bought me a scale to weigh her on a couple times a week to make sure she's gaining weight).  The doctor recommended we start adding formula to breast milk and if needed supplementing a couple formula bottles weekly to add calories to her meals because my supply was low.  We started right away and things were going fairly well until Thursday night when I noticed a rash on Annabelle's arms & legs.  Friday morning it was worse and I was very concerned but figured it was the formula since that was the only change in the past week.  We had an appointment to check her weight that afternoon and it turns out she was allergic to the formula so we had to get a special formula that the lactose is broken down.  The good news is that she actually went from 10lbs last Friday to 10lbs 15oz this Friday!  She gained almost an entire pound in a week.  We gave her a little Benadryl per the doctor and the rash was gone this morning.

I've included some fun pictures from the past week.  Today we went to the mall and I bought her little velcro bows for her hair, they are so cute!  I also bought tiny little hair clips but her hair is still to thin for them.  I have a feeling she is going to have lots of different hair things and styles, no surprise since Grandma Linda is a hairdresser and when I was little how my hair was always different.  I also included a picture of her looking in the mirror, she is starting to be fascinated by that mirror and will just stare at it & smile, a lot of times giving me time to get dressed in the morning.  The one non-baby shot is of the snow we got this past Wednesday, we stayed in that day!

Monthly bear pictures

I forgot to post Annabelle's pictures with my bear with the last update.  I've been taking a picture each month to show how much she has grown.

3 months old

It's been three months since this little bundle of joy has entered our lives, hard to believe.  When people say that time goes by quickly they are not kidding!  It seems like the weeks are flying by, probably partly because we are always so busy.  This week was no exception.

Monday we went to yoga as usual, this is Annabelle's forth class and she's really starting to enjoy it more.  She gets excited when we get there and looks all around the room with big smiles for everyone.  By the end she is usually so tired she falls asleep, this week it was mid-rolling over.

On Tuesday we decided to visit daddy at work.  It figures that she slept almost the entire time we were there as daddy was showing her off to everyone.  After that we thought we would stop by Brite Computers, where I used to work, to say hello.  She again slept most of the time until towards the end when she decided it was time to eat.  All and all it was a really nice outing and it was great that everyone got to finally meet her.

Wednesday Annabelle had her second EEG to make sure she wasn't having any infant spasms.  We heard back yesterday that the EEG was clear, no spasms and everything was normal!  What a relieve it was to know that the movements she is making while sleeping are completely normal baby startles.  This doesn't mean she can't have them in the future, it's just one more thing we have to keep an eye out for.

Yesterday was such a nice day, almost 60 degrees.  I took Annabelle out for her first walk in the new jogging stroller.  I included pictures of her in it.  She is so tiny that it looks really funny, but she seemed to enjoy being in it.  We just took a short walk down the street and back to give it a try, I see us using it almost daily when it warms up for good!

This afternoon we have our follow up meeting with Early Intervention.  We are going to get started with a Physical Therapist to work on Annabelle's fine & gross motor skills.  I'm very excited to see what kinds of things they show me to work with her on.  I want to make sure we are doing everything possible and this will defiantly help us do that.

12 weeks

Not a lot of updates this week but I do have a bunch of pictures to post.  We had 3 days of almost 9 hours of sleep without getting up.  It's been so great, I really hope it's our new schedule but I'm sure she will switch it up on me soon to keep me on my toes.  On Friday we went to Jeff & Carrie's for a get together.  It was nice to get out of the house to socialize and Annabelle got to wear a new little dress and her first leotards.

We decided to move her swing downstairs from the nursery to give us more room to play.  Annabelle seems to really like being in the office with us and the dogs are being very good with her at their level.  I also included a picture of Clyde and his new haircut.  He was shedding so bad I could vacuum almost everyday which was just getting crazy.  Since his haircut Saturday we haven't had any big clumps of hair to pick up.

It seems like we are seeing more and more smiles everyday!  Now we can get her to smile with high pitched noises and playing peek a boo.  It's so much fun everyday to see what she's going to do next.

This past week I noticed some strange movements on the web camera while Annabelle was sleeping.  After talking to her peditrician and her neurologist we are going back for another EEG this week to make sure it's not infant spasms.   We have our fingers crossed that it's just the regular startling that babies do while sleeping.  Will keep everyone posted.

11 weeks

Things are going well here in Rochester.  The weather has been varying between freezing with snow and warmer weather (40 - 50's) with rain so we are still mainly staying at home except for the occasional shopping trips.  Annabelle, like her mommy, really seems to enjoy shopping.  We have taken her to the mall, a few plazas, and I even started taking her grocery shopping.  She sleeps for the most part or just looks around at the new surroundings and all the people who want to get a peek at the baby.  Last Thursday we took Annabelle out for dinner for the first time.  We went to Moe's, figuring it would be fast just to give it a try.  She was awake most of the time and was an absolute angel.  Now maybe we can work our way up to a sit down restaurant.

We are still going to mommy & baby yoga on Mondays.  It's so nice to be in a room with all the other mommies and get to have our babies "socialize".  All the babies are well behaved and they really like the interaction.  What is really amazing is how well she sleeps Monday nights.  I'm thinking about getting a mommy & baby DVD so we can do it more than once a week.

Lately I've been going a little crazy with CraigsList.  I ended up buying a really nice jogging stroller, a pink Bumboo seat, and most recently a Rainforest Jumparoo.  I've included some pictures of Annabelle in the Bumboo & Jumparoo.  They are both still a little to big for her but I had to get some pictures :-).  As you can see in the pictures the dogs like Annabelle in the Jumparoo too!  I also included some other pictures I've taken over the past week, I love taking pictures.  So far I've taken over 200 every month since she's been born.  She just is so cute and has so many cute outfits I can't resist!
